Australia is facing a growing housing crisis, driven by population growth, decades of decreasing social housing investment, rising construction costs and worker shortages, and regulatory barriers at the local level. 

There is not one silver bullet solution – but rather multiple complex and interconnected challenges. To address these system-wide challenges and propose practical solutions, CEDA in partnership with Urbis has embarked on a series of housing reports, supported by a co-lab series. 

This co-lab will examine the role of precincts - both as economic infrastructure and as an opportunity in addressing Australia's housing challenges - exploring how integrated planning for housing, infrastructure and essential services, can deliver stronger community outcomes.

Insights generated from this co-lab will directly influence CEDA’s findings and the 5^th report in the series, ensuring the research reflects the practical realities experienced by industry, government, and community stakeholders.

CEDA Co-labs are facilitated by CEDA Economists or subject matter experts and are limited to a small group of participants, by invitation only. Each participant is expected to actively contribute to the discussion, responding to the set focus issues and leaning on practical examples where possible.
