As Australia seeks new drivers of productivity, innovation and workforce capability, international investment in higher education is playing an increasingly important role in shaping the nation's economic future.
In just over a decade, Torrens University Australia has grown from just 146 students at its establishment in 2014 to around 18,000 students today, with a community of more than 40,000 graduates. Backed by its US parent company, Strategic Education Inc., the University generated an estimated $800 million in economic value in 2022 alone, demonstrating the potential for international investment and public-private partnerships to strengthen Australia's higher education sector, build workforce capability and deliver lasting socio-economic impact.
CEDA is pleased to welcome Robert Silberman, Chairman of Strategic Education Inc., who will share a global perspective on how international investment and public-private partnerships can accelerate growth, foster industry collaboration and support long-term economic prosperity.
