Healthcare integration is a major challenge, as is connecting innovations from areas of excellence across the NSW health landscape. Care pathways based frameworks and collaborative commissioning offer an opportunity to both integrate care and scale innovation.
The Scaling Innovation and Evidence into Integrated Care Delivery invite-only discussion will investigate practical opportunities for connecting care pathways with collaborative commissioning to support better outcomes, reduce unwarranted variation and improve system efficiency. The discussion will test that opportunity against NSW’s experience and explores what a genuinely national model would need to deliver impact.
Aims of the discussion:
Lifting health system performance, quality and equity through adaptable care pathways and collaborative commissioning.
Identifying strategic and operational priorities: Governance and funding design matter, but so does whether a clinician trusts a national guideline enough to use and engage within it.
Setting NSW inside the national picture. Surface where Commonwealth settings support NSW’s reform priorities, and where there is opportunity for refinement.
