Australia’s sustainability reporting regime represents a significant shift in how organisations assess, govern and communicate climate-related financial risks and opportunities. As implementation progresses, organisations must translate evolving regulatory and legal expectations into credible reporting practices, effective governance and decision-useful disclosures.
This interactive session combines expert keynotes with fictional case studies designed to help participants explore key challenges Sustainability Leaders face in Sustainability reporting drawn from attending member insights. Our keynote speakers include Claire LaBouchardiere, Senior Executive Leader, Sustainability, Financial Reporting and Audit at the Australian Securities and Investments Commission joining us virtually to share regulatory observations on the emerging reporting regime. Professor Brad Potter from the University of Melbourne will provide an overview of relevant research, complemented by practical insights from Brain Kraft, Director at Anthesis, and legal expertise from Gilbert + Tobin.
Participants will then work through fictional scenarios in facilitated small-group discussions, exploring challenges, from scope 3 reporting, materiality, data and assurance readiness, governance responsibilities. Topics are drawn from the key challenges attending members face in groups you will discuss the practical steps organisations can take to strengthen the quality and credibility of their sustainability reporting.
